Johnny Chen

Johnny’s practice focuses on providing support to early stage companies in the areas of formation, financings, general corporate law, and commercial and licensing transactions. Prior to Inceptiv, Johnny was a Partner at Scale LLP, a distributed law firm providing support to Bay Area start-up companies, and was CFO, GC & Operating Partner at Atomic Labs, a Bay Area venture fund and start-up incubator that has incubated companies such as Hims and Bungalow. Johnny has also served as General Counsel and Head of Operations at SweetLabs, Inc., a private adtech company, and General Counsel for DivX, Inc., a previously Nasdaq-listed company that licensed and distributed the DivX video codec technology. Prior to going in-house, Johnny was an attorney at Ropes & Gray, a corporate law firm based in Boston, and Irell & Manella, a law firm based in Los Angeles.
